CANDOUR ADVANCES TO NATIONAL ADDY AWARDS COMPETITION

Mutlidisciplinary boutique design studio, Candour will compete among the nation’s top design agencies in the 2009 National ADDY® Awards. In March, Candour was recognized by the Greater Ocala Advertising Federation with six local ADDY® Awards, including three for the branding of its own studio. With that win, the studio automatically advanced to the district competition where they took home a Silver ADDY® Award and an invitation to compete at the national level.

“This is an outstanding achievement for Candour and we are very honored to have our hard work recognized,” said Candour Principal and Creative Director, Kristin Goza. “It is always exciting and humbling to receive recognition from our industry peers.”

Over 1,500 finalists will compete in the National ADDY® awards. A panel of judges will choose winners on May 8-9 in Washington, D.C.

At a local level, Candour took top honors for its own company branding, which included a stationery suite, promotional poster series, and company website. Candour branding received the Best of Print award, a Gold ADDY® in the Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category, and Sarah Blacksher’s Judge’s Choice Award.

“We dedicate almost all of our time to enhancing client’s brands, so the opportunity to focus on the messaging behind our own identity was exciting,” said Holly Clark, Candour Principal and Creative Director.

Candour was also the recipient of two awards in the Public Service category. Receiving a Gold ADDY® for the SmartLife Expo Campaign and a Silver ADDY® for Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce branding, as well as a Silver ADDY® in the Advertising for the Arts & Sciences category for branding of the Appleton Museum of Art.

“We are excited that our work not only produced great results for our clients, but has also been recognized by the Ocala advertising community for its creativity,” Clark said.

The ADDY® Awards are the world’s largest and most competitive advertising contest, with about 55,000 local entries competing in 200 cities coast to coast. The awards recognize the best agencies, graphic designers, copywriters, web developers, and media companies.
