NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR NEW OCALA DESIGN FIRM

Multidisciplinary boutique design studio, Candour, received a National Silver ADDY® Award June 6th at the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National ADDY® Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. This is an extraordinary feat for any studio, but particularly for one that has been in existence for less than one-year.

“We are honored and thrilled to receive such a prestigious nod from our industry peers,” said Candour Principal and Creative Director, Kristin Goza. “We opened our doors just eight months ago and understand that many established agencies wait decades to receive this distinguished honor, while some never receive the opportunity at all.”

The AAF awards system is a three-tiered competition where entrants must first submit work on a local level. If they receive local recognition, they then advance on to the district level and then on to national. On a local level, Candour took top honors at the Greater Ocala Advertising Federation’s ADDY® Gala in March with a total of six ADDY® Awards. Their accolades included Best of Print, a Gold ADDY® in the Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category, and Sarah Blacksher’s Judge’s Choice award. That win piloted them on to win a Silver ADDY® at the District ADDY® Awards Gala held in Orlando, FL in May.

Candour’s win on the district level advanced them on to the national competition where they took home a National Silver ADDY® Award for their own company branding in the Advertising Industry, Self-Promotion, Mixed-Media category. The entry included Candour’s stationery suite, eco-series self-promotion poster campaign, and company website.

With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY® Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best of advertising worldwide.

“It’s a proud day for Candour to be represented at the National ADDY® Awards,” said agency Principal and Creative Director, Holly Clark. “The Candour brand was the first project that Kristin and I collaborated on as a creative duo when we first became business partners. To win a national award for our very first project out the gate is very exciting and we hope it’s just the beginning of many more wonderful things to come.”
